“When you enter our studio in historic Lexington center you'll know right away that we're here to create portraits that are uniquely yours. There's nothing cookie-cutter about us,” says photographer/owner Andrea Joliat. “Our relaxed inviting studio will put you at ease and reassure you that we are here to take the time to understand who you are and what you'd like to take away with you.” Whether it's portraits of a new baby or portraits for a business publicity shot, Andrea typically considers the end requirements first and then works backward to create the products. “If a parent comes to me looking for photographs of her new baby,” Andrea says “I can help her design and plan a colorful nursery wall display or a series of small portraits for grandparent gifts. Likewise, I will learn about what a business person is looking for, be it an author photo for a book jacket or an environmental photo for a web site, and once we've got the session planned we can relax, have fun and create natural looking portraits.” Andrea's interest in photography spans three decades. Her success in realizing a union between the technical and creative aspects of photography has been acknowledged by her peers – her work has won the prestigious "Court of Honor" award for the best portrait in the juried print competitions of both the Professional Photographers Associations of New England and Massachusetts. She graduated from the New England School of Photography with an honors portfolio and has a BA from St. Lawrence University. A member of the Professional Photographers Association of America, she is one of 3% of photographers in the US to hold Professional Certification. Andrea is honored to have served as president of the Professional Photographers Association of Massachusetts. She continues to be a member of the organization as well as The Professional Photographers Association of New England.
